Nuremberg: "home" again

May 19th, 2007 § 1

After saying goodbye from Portugal in a well spent night at Porto my good friend João took me to the airport. From there a quick boarding to 2 hours of sleep in the fucking tight ryanair planes, 1hour in Frankfurt Hahn,2 hours sleeping on the last bus seat(the big one) and then more 2 hours from Frankfurt to Nuremberg.

Had dinner at Andrea’s with her famous “paninis” and came back to my place for sleeping.

Wednesday was the day for partying at Park Cafe. There was a poker tournament going on but I could take part on it.

Thursday was the day for working for nebo.

Friday was the day to work at nebo. And during the evening, guess what: flat party at my own flat.
My father gave me some portuguese cheese, dry-cured ham (presunto) and sausages (chouriça moira) and adding some pizzas and some bottle of vodka we made a small party on my small apartment. I think there were around 20 people at my place.

Today I was invited to eat lasagna and I went to the “blue night” where supposedly everything is blue in the inner city.

About Portugal I just want to say that I love to be there once more but my ERASMUS life is not bad at all.

Ah! I’ll have two guest from www.couchsurfing.com staying at my place. One from Brazil and one American.

Cheers!

In out…

And thanks to “ovelhasnegras” with his so motivating comment… wihout it I think I would never write one more word in this thing…

Ah! I also have yesterday a presentation about Google lasting one hour that wasn’t so bad at all and during the preparation I found that querying Google about “computer engineering” in Portugal FEUP is the first result and that at last the search for “tiago matos” returns something about me: this blog.

Sometimes I loose myself doing queries in Google about my friends…

Simão Soares comes with lots of results about himself in GNU-Linux Portugal
Paulo Russo shows is personal webpage related to Counter-Strike
and the first result of “Pedro Couto” is www.macacos.com.

Cheers to all,
Tiago

I know it was been time…

Well firstly I want to apologize to those who come this this web corner and expect some updated news of what’s going on around the Nazi’s capital…

I’ll shortly summarize wants have been going on around here.

The previous post is from Couto, so I better say some words to him.

Couto, you’ve been a great friends coming all the way to Nuremberg to spend some time with me and my ERASMUS friends. Want to thank you for the nice moments we’ve had here in Nuremberg and in Budapest. Hope someone else will follow your example.

Filipe, lots of thanks for hosting us and to loose some of your free time while trying to make, what was for me, one of the best trips I ever had. It was great to meet you friends and you life around there and for some times compare with my own ERASMUS life around here. There’s some difference for sure but not sure know which one’s best.

Budapest, eastern capital of sex, it was great to meet you again. This time with a little bit more time and relaxation. Sorry for didn’t sightseeing you much but you know that your night life is much prettier that your gray buildings.

After Buda and specially Pest we came again to Nuremberg we besides me having to do some work it was fun.

Couto left, my old life back :P No so many dizzy mornings :)

Things on nebo are going OK. I’ve already have a new project assigned till end of August. Yes, now is a certainty: I’ll stay here till end ofthe hottest month. Another summer without beach. I think I’ve been in the beach 1 time in last 5 years and is much better this way.

On Saturday I have my flight to Porto and I must confess I anxious about visiting Portugal and my portuguese life again. I know everything will be exactly the same: Queima at the same time the best and worst place ever in the world and the “cochinhas de galinha”(sorry no translation for english. From wikipedia I’ve got this definition: “Salgadinhos are small savory snacks, mostly sold in corner shops. There are many types of filled and fried pastries.”) are the best in all Milky Way Galaxy (nice English name for “Via Láctea” in Portuguese).

Well that’s all…

I’m all alone in the office so it seems I’ll make a visit to out friend Mc and then came back.

K and H’s,
Tiago Matos
